Editors Notes:

After exploring Yu Zhenli’s early works, his construction of a studio in the mountains, and his Chinese abstract morphological expressionism paintings, this issue will review Yu Zhenli and the contemporary art scene in Dalian. The first article will analyze some often overlooked details in his life and work, as well as summarize the events surrounding his establishment of the 8+1 Art Fund. The second article will compile excerpts from his Handwritten Diary, focusing on his connections with the Dalian art community, providing us with a closer perspective on the life of an artist.
