Abstract
Cliff inscriptions represent a unique form of calligraphic art. This paper, presented as a creative journal, uses the creation of the Songshan cliff inscriptions in the Qilu region as a starting point. It first discusses how contemporary cliff calligraphy must consider the expression of thematic ideas and artistic conception from the perspective of landscape art, striving for the organic integration of cultural and natural landscapes. The paper emphasizes that the selection of sites and the creation of texts for cliff calligraphy should adapt to local conditions. It then explores crucial aspects of cliff calligraphy creation, such as rock climbing for inscription writing, engraving, and rubbings.
