Abstract
In 1939, the National Academy of Art, formed by the merger of the Beiping Art School and the Hangzhou Art School, moved west to Anjiang Village, marking a brief yet crucial period in its educational history. Many teachers and students actively joined the cultural and artistic front, working together to overcome challenges. Despite the difficult conditions, the National Academy of Art faculty and students did not forget to spread the seeds of culture, using education and culture to rescue the nation in times of peril. They created numerous outstanding works of art, nurtured many exceptional artists, and wrote a brilliant chapter in the history of modern Chinese art. Simultaneously, they also prepared a large pool of talent for developing literature and art, culture, education, artistic education, and propaganda in New China, exerting a profound influence on our country’s art education field.
